Now you’ve chosen a beautiful Ocean Rugs rug, you want to make sure you care for it appropriately.
For this purpose, we have put a useful guide together to help your rug live a long and beautiful life.
Rugs that can be used on both sides should be turned over at least once a year. This will extend their useful life.
If possible, turn the rug 180 degrees. This will ensure even wear and keep the uniform appearance of your rug.
Rug underlay is recommended on hard surfaces as it increases tread comfort and prevents slipping.
When you rug is new individual fibres or threads may come loose during the first weeks of use. Please do not pull these out. Instead simply cut the projecting thread at the surface with household scissors.
Vacuum cleaning as often as once a week on a low to medium power will ensure dirt particles don’t have a chance to embed themselves into the pile. Do not use the brush attachment for vacuuming your rug.
For stain removal quickly blot dry with a clean and unprinted cloth or paper. Do not rub in any direction when applying pressure. In the case of coarse dirt, please allow to dry and then vacuum clean.
If your rug is heavily soiled by stains, we recommend having the rug professionally cleaned. Please contact us for our professional cleaning service.
Should you remove your rug to mop the floor, please allow the floor to be completely dry before replacing your rug.
Wherever possible, avoid walking on your rug with shoes. Should this not be avoidable, we still recommend not walking on the rug with rubber shoes, as these pull the threads out of the yarn.
Your new rug is already clean and does not need cleaning straight away when delivered to your home.
Please note that this guide is complementary to our How to clean your rug appropriately guide, which you will also find on our site.
